Pantai Hill visitor and worker trash

Pantai Hill Orchard resort trash

These pictures are all taken at the entrance of the Pantai Hill gate. In the mornings, construction workers gather here before going up to the site. This is where resort workers come and open the gates for visitors and sometimes the workers and visitors do a ‘quick one’. We hope that all contractors inform their workers of this unacceptable behaviour. Resort operators and residents building or doing any renovation works also need to inform their contractor to keep a strict eye on the rubbish accumulated at the entrance gate.Pantai Hill Resort Gates

Several people have caught resort workers dispose resort trash into the river banks. This area is outside the Pantai Hill gates, but greatly demonstrates how if unchecked – the tourism impact on the hill can quickly erode the pristine environment.

Take a closer look at the rubbish dump by the river.

UPDATE: This section of the river has been clean on 31st May 2015 by Pantai Hill residents who volunteered for the community cleanup. Thank you to those who gave their energy and time. <<Read the full report here>>
